Introducing the MacIntosh sofa

The new MacIntosh is a contemporary sofa that draws inspiration from the plush, solid form of 1920s club chairs and the clean, geometric lines of 1960s sofas. Fused into one, MacIntosh is a timeless, sophisticated and modern sofa.

Art-deco furniture in the 1920s were symbols of indulgence and elegance with luxurious materials, plump, solid forms and handcrafted detail. Fast forward to the 1960s and furniture had taken on boxier silhouettes with geometric and rectilinear shapes to complement modernist architecture. Both the 1920s and 1960s have had an enduring presence in design, and the MacIntosh merges characteristics of both.

The outer frame of the MacIntosh draws a continuous line around the edge of sofa. Long, slim cushions wrap around the interior of the structure, plumped for comfort and support. The stitching detail around the arm, back and seat cushions accentuates the profile of the sofa, with the large, flat welt stitching requiring more leather to achieve.

The MacIntosh sofa is upholstered in 10 Gallon Hat Hoss, an Italian-finished top-grain pure aniline leather. It has a soft, supple hand and accrues a beautiful patina with age and use. MacIntosh is also stocked in Commonwealth Dusk – a new leather colour that is a soft, dusky grey. Other leather colours are available by indent order

The MacIntosh is a beautiful addition to residential and commercial projects. Pair it with chairs such as the Parr and Royce that share its strong geometric lines, or with the Harrow that has a similar solid form.
